Based on a central processing unit, a PC also includes external items, including a monitor or video display, a handheld mouse device, and keyboard. More complex systems can also have extra memory capabilities. Memory size and processing speeds are the tape measure by which the worth of a computer system is measured. Bytes hold one character of text in memory. Kilobytes, megabytes, gigabytes, and terras were given to PCs to separate them from larger mainframe, but the increasing capabilities of PCs have erased these differences.
